Traces the development of the Northern European magical alphabet known as the Runes. Historic references to the Runes and their use in magic and divination by Germanic tribes, the Anglo-Saxons and the Vikings are also mentioned. Detailed information is given on each of the Runic letters together with their magical and spiritual meanings and religious symbolism. The book concludes with descriptions of the gods and goddesses of the divine tribes of the Aesir and Vanir associated with the runes, the Web of Wyrd and destiny and Saxon-Norse traditional witchcraft.
